Manila, Philippines – Former Bureau of Workers with Special Conditions Director Ahmma Charisma Lobrin-Satumba is named the new Executive Director of the Institute for Labor Studies.

With the appointment of Director Satumba as the new Executive Director of ILS, Atty. Mary Grace L. Riguer will resume her appointive post as the Deputy Executive Director III.

Director Satumba has three Masters Degrees: a Masters in Developmental Studies from the De La Salle University, a Master’s in Public Management from the Ateneo School of Governent, and a Masters in National Security Administration from the National Defense College of the Philippines. She completed her undergraduate studies at the De La Salle University with a Degree in Political Science.

With 24 years of experience in public service, Director Satumba, before being at the helm of the BWSC, also worked in other DOLE offices namely the Bureau of Labor Relations, Bureau of Women and Young Workers, and as Director II of the National Wages and Productivity Commission.

Director Satumba was once part of the Institute for Labor Studies, serving as Division Chief of the Workers Welfare Research Division.
