Event Title:

Design Thinking Olympics

Venue:

iLEARN Conference Room, 5th Floor DOLE Building, Gen. Luna St, Intramuros, Manila.

Date and Time:

August 3-4, 2017.

Overview:

Design Thinking Olympics aims to introduce design thinking to DOLE’s operations, and mainstream design thinking as one of strategies in managing programs as well as in crafting region-specific policies that respond to the needs of their end users. The competition is anchored on the theme “Programang paggawa, pa’no ka ginawa?: Innovating public sector delivery.”

Participants were given a DOLE-specific “design challenge” and were led through the design thinking process (Empathize – Define – Ideate – Prototype – Evaluate) to ponder and solve it. It will also be piloted in select key Regional Offices of DOLE and will run from August 18 to September 29. The presentation of Final Outputs by participating Regional Offices will be on November 3, 2017.

The workshop was facilitated by Philip Smithson, Director of On-Off Group.
